Why the tree

The logo is a tree with two halves — one pink, one blue — growing from the same trunk. Two families, two sides of a room, one day where they end up in the same photograph. That is roughly the job.

How we work

Tarika is deliberately small. Erika quotes your event, plans your event and is physically there on the day. You are not passed to a coordinator you have never met the week before your wedding, and you do not get a different answer depending on who picks up.

That also means we take on a limited number of events per month, particularly in season. When we say a date is available, it is genuinely available, and when we are full we will say so rather than stretch ourselves across your day and somebody else's.

What we are good at

Coastal weddings, mostly. Working out where on a beach the ceremony should actually stand. Getting a permit application through. Building an arch that holds up in a south-easter. Knowing which caterer will be comfortable with no power on site and which one will not.

We are also perfectly happy doing a fiftieth birthday in a hall, a school farewell, or dropping off sixty chairs and a stack of linen for a family braai. Not everything has to be a production.

Erika is Afrikaans, most of our couples are, and we are just as comfortable running the whole planning process — quotes, contracts, signage and all — in Afrikaans as in English. Sê net.
