Jeffreys Bay, and wherever else you want to say yes

Sand underfoot. The sea behind you. Everything else handled.

Tarika plans, styles and flowers weddings and celebrations along the Eastern Cape coast — from the first phone call to the last chair loaded back onto the bakkie.

Full planning, décor and flowers — or just the chairs, tables, linen and crockery if that is all you need.

What Tarika actually is

One person, one number, from the first idea to the last plate packed away.

Erika Opperman runs Tarika. When you phone, you get her — not a call centre and not a different coordinator every month.

We take on the whole event: the plan, the timeline, the suppliers, the flowers, the décor, the setup and the pack-up. If you would rather do most of it yourself and only need the furniture and linen delivered, that is also completely fine. Most of our work is weddings on the beach, but we do birthdays, anniversaries, corporate functions and gala evenings with the same care.

What we do

Four ways we get involved

Pick the one that matches where you are. Most couples start with the first and add the rest as the date gets closer.

Beach weddings on the Eastern Cape coast

This is what we are known for. Tide times, wind, permits, getting a generator and forty chairs down a set of wooden stairs — we have done it enough times to know what the coast does to a plan. Arches, aisle greenery, pampas, signage, seating, blankets for your guests when the wind comes up at five o'clock.

Celebrations and functions

Milestone birthdays, anniversaries, engagement parties, year-end functions and gala evenings. Balloon arches, backdrops, cake tables, neon signage and the flowers to tie it together.

Parties and corporate

Flowers and décor

Bouquets, buttonholes, aisle and arch work, table arrangements, greenery in baskets, pampas and dried arrangements that survive a coastal wind better than fresh stems do.

Flowers and styling

Furniture and tableware hire

Tables, chairs, linen, crockery, cutlery, glassware and décor pieces for hire — delivered and collected, whether or not we are planning the rest of the day.

What you can hire

From enquiry to pack-up

How a Tarika event runs

Five stages. You are told what happens next at every one of them.

The first conversation

A call or WhatsApp, free, no obligation. Your date, your rough numbers, where you want it and what you have already booked. If we are not the right fit we will say so and point you somewhere else.

A plan and a written quote

You get a proposal with the concept, the item list and a price — itemised, so you can see exactly what the flowers cost against what the furniture costs, and cut something if you need to.

Suppliers and logistics

We book and brief the photographer, caterer, sound, minister or marriage officer, transport and anyone else on the list, and we handle the beach or venue permissions. One timeline goes out to everybody.

Setup on the day

We arrive early, build it, dress it, check it and stay through the ceremony and reception so that when something shifts — and on a beach it does — it is our problem, not yours.

Pack-up

Everything comes down, gets loaded and leaves the site clean. You go home. Nobody in your family spends Sunday morning returning chairs.

Where we work

Up and down this coastline

We are based in Jeffreys Bay and travel for the day. The beaches around Tsitsikamma and Nature's Valley, the farms behind Humansdorp, venues in St Francis Bay, Cape St Francis, Gqeberha and Kareedouw, and further along the Garden Route when a couple asks us to.

Travel beyond about 60 km is quoted separately and shown as its own line on your quote, so there are no surprises at the end.
